The profession of a teacher is slowly losing its meaning. Normally, people think teachers are there to convey information to students in a classroom setting. However, I chose this profession because a teacher must also touch the hearts of every student, as my previous teachers did with mine. When I was in 7th grade, my family and I moved to China because my dad took up a job in a small international school in Beijing. I was initially apprehensive, for I was unsure as to what to expect. I was also really scared as to what my new school would be like, because it was going to be a place where I'd have to spend most of my time. After a few weeks, all of the apprehension disappeared. My teachers, whom I will never forget, made the very small school into a place that I considered home. Up to this day, whenever I think of those people and that school, I call it my "home away from home." Since then, I've seen the teaching profession as a noble one. It goes beyond the lectures...
